Victoria Doramus graduated in 2006 from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has a degree in journalism and focused on advertising copywriting. Within a month of graduating, she landed a job at MindShare. She was an assistant media planner and her responsibilities included planning budgets which were used in negotiations she engaged in with media vendors.
Another company that Victoria Doramus has applied her skills is Trendera. This company is a trend forecasting business. She was hired to spot lifestyle trends so that her Trendera’s employees could capitalize on them. She also completed tasks such as curating city guides, managing social media, and building media campaigns.
For six years she freelancing ghostwriter as a side gig. Her writing appears in a number of publications including “Menu Dating: Taste-Test Your Way to the Main Course” and “The Modern Girl’s Guide to Sticky Situations”. Victoria Doramus’ also freelanced for a year at a J.Crew and Stila joint-venture where she designed the visual elements for their sales catalogs.
Starting in 2016 she shifted her focus to the nonprofit industry. She has volunteered her time for a number of nonprofits in both London and New York. The first one Victoria Doramus started to volunteer for was the Amy Winehouse Foundation and its efforts to help younger folk from getting addicted to alcohol and drugs. In addition to other efforts, this foundation develops homes that young women can stay in who are getting treatment for their addictions.
Victoria Doramus has helped set up a number of these homes. She says that after a treatment program is completed the women will stay in the home for an additional three months because they require support during that time or else they will often relapse. She helps women in the process of transitioning into an independent life free of drugs and alcohol.
