Again, CAOA reinvented the Hyundai market in Brazil-it significant infrastructural progress in Sales, Marketing and post-sales.
No businessperson in the Brazilian automobile industry has shown a lot of zeal than Carlos Alberto de Oliveira. Besides importing and distributing automobiles, he went a step further to do what many would have considered impossible. He invested in manufacturing plant with a licence from Hyundai. When the Car Talk portal Editor-in-Chief, asked Dr Carlos what he was up to, the answer was simple: to make a complete Brazilian car.
When the editor-in-chief of the Car Talk portal asked Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade about his dreams as a businessman, the business guru said, “We have already made a deal with a design agency located in Italy. The agency is seriously at work creating a whole new body for Tucson. Negotiations with Fiat are underway. The idea is to source diesel engines for the HD 78. I am borrowing a leaf from the Koreans and doing what they did with the Japanese- they used Japanese cars to come up with their purely Korean models.”
In 2007, Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade launched COA’s largest Automobile Plant to the tune of $600 million. The factory is located in the Agro-industrial District of Annapolis. Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade funded the project in its entirety. He selected the state of Goiás as the best regarding geographical advantage. The factory has since been in operation and, produces highly automated and quality models like Tucson Flex, HR and HD, light commercial lines and, New Tucson.
